Jon Robinson’s Harley Davidson
Jolyon (Jon) Robinson has been in the Cape Classic club since 2008 (8 yrs). Jon rides a ’95 Harley Wideglide FXDWG. It’s the iconic Harley style with original EVO motor …. “I love it’s styling and heritage.” Jon has had the bike for 4 years and done 46824kms. His Harley Davidson has been through stage 1 tuning (ScreaminEagle). Steel carb manifold, Replaced front spokes, tyres, starter bendix, steering shaft bearings, battery. Various chrome work and embellishments too.
With any old bike, the trials and tribulations have been as follows … The carb blew off after bike backfiring. Doesn’t corner well. Prefers straight tar roads. Technically not the greatest…but so what!
Jon’s favorite Cape Town bike route is the Hex River Valley, Clarence Drive R44, Peninsula Putter etc, etc.
The first motorcycle Jon owned was a 1964 Honda 50 when at school.
If Jon could own any motorbike in the world it would be 1964 Honda 50 (to remind me of my youth), 97 FLHT Electra Glide, 86 FXST Soft Tail, 97 FXSTSB Soft Tail Springer or 88 FLST Heritage Softail (the epitomy of what freedom is supposed to be all about…)
